Ceratonia

I'm 36, called Jon(athon) and spend my days in the highly non-horticultural pursuit of silicon chip design.

My garden is about a third of an acre, in a village in South Cambridgeshire. Grow quite a lot of fruit & veg (plus nuts & herbs I suppose). I am assisted in the garden by my two sons (five and seven), who have their own little patches and my wife (who assists with 'suggestions' and by picking veg and cutting flowers).

Apart from the edible stuff, we have cut flowers for the house, quite a few mixed borders, couple of lawns, a crumbling patio, two greenhouses full of stuff, hundreds of plants in pots from various cuttings & seedlings that couldn't be thrown out and which I haven't managed to give away.

Why is this blog called Ceratonia? Well, Ceratonia siliqua is the carob tree (it goes by various other names too). I've grown a couple of these from seed. Was asked to supply a username by some site or other and the first thing when I looked up from the pc was the label on the pot the carob trees were in.
